"bonus points" ... grossly unfair ???

I was looking at this from the point of view of the Piedmont District schools, and I came up with some interesting numbers.

(Let's say all teams have 0 wins at the time, as rider points would be the same in all cases.)

Case 1 : Div. 4 Bassett (with 1222 students) and Div. 2 Martinsville (663) both beat Div. 3 Magna Vista (903). Since Bassett would get 2 extra "bonus points", they'd get 23 points, while Mart. would get just 21.

Should a smaller school that pulls off an "upset" get fewer points than the bigger school that is "expected" to win?

Case 2 : Div. 4 schools Bassett (1222) and Carroll Co. (1208), both beat Div. 2 Martinsville (663). Since it's a District game for Bassett, they get 22 points, but Carroll only gets 18 points.

Since both are D4-West schools, how is it fair for 1 school to get more points than the other for beating the same opponent?

Case 3 : Div. 4 Bassett (1222) beats Div. 3 Patrick Co (798) and gets 23 points, then beats Div. 4 GW-Danville (1340... 2/3rds bigger than Patrick) and only gets 22 points.

Case 4 : Div. 5 Halifax Co. will get MORE points for beating Div. 2 Martinsville (663) they'll get for beating a school twice that size - Div. 4 Jefferson Forest (1329)... 26 to 24.
